We are proud to share that Icaza, González-Ruiz & Alemán has won the award for which we had been nominated at the 2025 Latin Lawyer Awards in the category “Project Finance: Infrastructure,” for our involvement in the US$1.4 billion financing of the Fourth Bridge over the Panama Canal.
Our firm advised Panama Infrastructure Receivable Purchaser PLC in the structuring of the financing for the Design and Construction of the Fourth Bridge over the Panama Canal, a key project for the development of national infrastructure. This transaction stands out for its financial complexity, as it is primarily carried out through Transferable Payment Instruments (TPIs) to be issued by the Ministry of Public Works of Panama.
The financing includes a combination of mechanisms, such as private placement and public issuance of notes. The lawyer leading this transaction was our partner Alfredo Fonseca.
