Icaza, González-Ruiz & Alemán has been nominated for the 2025 Latin Lawyer Awards in the category “Project Finance: Infrastructure”
We are proud to share that Icaza, González-Ruiz & Alemán has been nominated for the 2025 Latin Lawyer Awards in the category “Project Finance: Infrastructure” for our participation in the US$1.4 billion financing for the fourth bridge over the Panama Canal.
Our firm advised Panama Infrastructure Receivable Purchaser PLC in structuring the financing for the Design and Construction of the Fourth Bridge over the Panama Canal, a key project for the development of national infrastructure. This transaction is characterized by its financial complexity, as it is primarily executed through Transferable Payment Instruments (IPTs) to be issued by the Ministry of Public Works of Panama.
The financing includes a combination of mechanisms, such as private placement and public note issuance. The attorney in charge of this transaction was our partner Alfredo Fonseca.
