We are pleased to announce that Icaza, González-Ruiz & Alemán has been named one of the winners at the Latin Lawyer Awards 2025 in the category of “Project Finance: Infrastructure,” in recognition of our outstanding participation in the US$1.4 billion financing for the Fourth Bridge over the Panama Canal.
Our firm advised Panama Infrastructure Receivable Purchaser PLC in structuring this complex financing aimed at the design and construction of the Fourth Bridge over the Panama Canal, a landmark project for the development of national infrastructure. The transaction stands out for its financial sophistication, being carried out primarily through Transferable Payment Instruments (TPIs) issued by the Ministry of Public Works of Panama.
The financing involved a combination of mechanisms, including private placement and public note issuance. The lawyer in charge of this transaction was our partner, Alfredo Fonseca.
